Foundation Lifting & House Leveling in Daingerfield, TX
What We Do More Than Anything Else
Best Way Foundation Repair has been handling settled foundations, sloping floors and doors that no longer latch across Morris County for over 25 years. About 35 miles north of Longview. Free inspections, warranted work, and owner James Wilson on site.
Why Daingerfield Homes Need This Work
Lifting foundations is what Best Way does more than anything else. We are a concrete contractor by trade, and the concrete is the point: the piers that carry your house after the lift are what decide whether it stays where we put it. Owner James Wilson has spent his working life on this one job across Deep East Texas.
Foundation lifting — house leveling, if that is the term you know it by — means physically returning a settled structure to a level plane and re-supporting it so it holds. On pier and beam homes that means lifting at the beams and piers; on a slab it means lifting the slab itself on piers driven beneath it. Either way the skill is in the lift, not the jack: going too fast is how contractors crack sheetrock, break tile and split framing.
We lift in small increments across many points simultaneously, moving the whole structure together rather than jacking one corner up and hoping the rest follows. Between increments we check elevations and look at the framing, the door reveals and the existing cracks. If the house tells us to slow down, we slow down.
A good leveling job ends with the structure supported on adequate piers at adequate spacing, shimmed with materials that will not compress or rot, and with the drainage corrected so the soil underneath stops moving. Anything less is a lift that will need doing again.
What Moves Foundations in Morris County
Morris County Clay and Terrain. Morris County's soil holds the same clay content common across northeast Texas, and combined with the area's rolling terrain, water tends to move unevenly around foundations, accelerating shrink-swell movement on one side of a house more than the other.
Established Housing Stock. Daingerfield has a solid base of older homes, many built on pier and beam, that have had decades to settle. We see a lot of sill and joist repair work here alongside foundation leveling.
Close Enough for Quick Turnaround. At about 35 miles from Longview, Daingerfield is close enough that we can usually schedule an inspection quickly and keep travel costs from adding much to a repair.
We cover Daingerfield and the surrounding communities — Pittsburg — and there is no travel charge for the inspection.
When You Need Foundation Lifting & House Leveling
Foundation problems do not resolve themselves, and the number of piers a house needs grows the longer it keeps moving. If any of this sounds like your Daingerfield home, have it measured while it is still small — the inspection costs nothing.

Our Foundation Lifting & House Leveling Process
- 1
Full Elevation Map
Readings across every room and every support point, so we know the true shape of the settlement before a single jack goes under the house.
- 2
Support Point Assessment
On pier and beam we inspect every pier, sill, beam and joist. Rotten or undersized supports get replaced as part of the lift rather than jacked against.
- 3
Staged Hydraulic Lift
Multiple jacks working together in small increments, with elevation checks between stages. The house moves as one piece.
- 4
Permanent Re-Support
New or reset piers at proper spacing, shimmed with steel and treated material. Nothing that will rot, crush or work loose.
- 5
Post-Lift Verification
A second full elevation survey confirming the result, handed to you alongside the before readings.
Materials & Methods
Multi-Point Hydraulic Jacking
Several jacks under load at once so the lift is distributed. This is the single biggest difference between a careful leveling job and a damaging one.
Steel Shims and Caps
Steel rather than wood scraps at the bearing points, so the support does not compress or rot back out of level in five years.
Concrete and Steel Piers
Sized and spaced to the actual span and load of your structure rather than to a standard spacing that may not fit it.
Digital Elevation Survey
Before-and-after readings recorded in writing so the result is measurable rather than a matter of opinion.
Daingerfield Foundation Lifting & House Leveling FAQs
How much does house leveling cost?
It scales with the size of the house, how far out of level it is, and how many of the existing supports need replacing rather than resetting. A pier and beam home with sound framing that needs shimming and a few new piers is a modest job; one with rotten sills and beams is a larger one. The inspection and written quote are free.
Can you level a house without cracking the walls?
That is exactly what the incremental method is for. Lifting slowly across many points at once lets finishes move with the structure. Some existing cracks change shape as the house returns to level, and older brittle plaster can show new hairlines — we tell you what to expect before we lift.
How level does a house actually need to be?
Perfectly flat is neither realistic nor necessary on an older home. The goal is to bring the structure back within tolerance, close the differential that is causing the damage, and support it so it stops moving. We show you the numbers rather than promising a flat floor.
How long does leveling take?
Typically one to four days depending on the size of the structure, the number of support points and how much sill or beam work is needed underneath.
Can we stay in the house during the lift?
In most cases yes. You will hear the work and you may notice doors moving as the house comes back. We let you know in advance if any part of the job needs the house empty.
Do you level mobile and manufactured homes?
Our work is on permanent residential and light commercial structures. Call and describe what you have at (903) 932-8150 and we will tell you honestly whether it is in our wheelhouse or point you to someone better suited.
